HI everybody, isn't Robotics fun? We are having such a great time doing Robotics. In group 5 we have Amelia, Rhiannon and Rosalie. Have fun and we hope you like reading our page!!!!
TERM 1
Wk 7, 16th March, BUILDING! Building was difficult, though fun but drove me crazy when we had to take it all apart from one little mistake! We had so much fun, our Robot was special to us as we created it, it was like a child. We called our Robot HI 5! or 5 alive! When we were building we thought we were way behind with everyone but we were up to date. OH, what a relief. The first week we got the first few pages done. We didn't end up finishing it in time so we had to go finish building it in passive play during lunch. After lunch was over, something was wrong with our robot and we didn't get the arm built, we were afraid we were never going to be able to finish it. Luckely, the other group we were building with, Keelie, Sarah B and Olivia, finished off the robot without us. So now its finished and it ended up looking great. Amelia
Wk 8 PEDESTRIAN CROSSING Doing the pedestrian crossing was awesome. What the pedestrian crossing really was, was you had to make your robot move from 1 line to the other and it had to stop right at the line. There were little lego people standing up on the line and you couldn't knock them over when your robot reached the other side. It took us a while to know how to do everything but after, we were on track. We used driving forward and it took us a couple of tries to get it right, our first try was to short as we made it move for only 3 seconds and only went half way, so we changed it to 6 seconds. On our second try it went over the line and knocked down the pedestrians. We changed it to 5 seconds but it was just a little over so on our last try we changed it to 4.5 seconds and it was PERFECT! Wk 9 360 TURN The 360 turn was hard, though interesting. Our mission was to make our robot make a fast full turn and stop in the same spot you started in. We put in 360 but it accidently started turning 360 times. We were all so confused when we tested it, it just kept turning and turning and turning. Then we decided to change it to 4 and it started turning 4 times. Then we realised what was going on we thought it was degrees but it was actually the number of turns. So we put in 1 and it only turned once but it didn't stop in the excact spot, it was just a little short. We needed it to turn just a little more so we put it as 1.5 though it was to much. We then put it as 1.4, it was to much again. 1.3, to much. 1.1 was to short. We were stuck, though the only thing we thought we could do was change it from the number of turns to seconds. So we started off with 2 seconds and worked our way down. 1.9 was to much and 1.8 wasn't enough we were completely out of ideas and we were so sick of it having to change it like 100 times. We asked the teacher what to do about it and she suggested to try 1.85, so we did and it was to perfection. It was so good that it scored us a 5 out of 5. I wondered what we would do if we didn't have teachers. Amelia
Wk10 SNAKE The snake, our final project ot term 1. Our instuctions for this project was to make a perfect snake going side to side in the forward direction and reversing back doing the same thing and ending in the same position as when you started. This move was the hardest out of all of us. At first when we found out how to do it it started turning to much to the side. So we made all of the turns to go for longer. That still didnt make it better so we thought we could could make the direction of the turns more powerful. That made a great snake going forwards but we still had to find out how to make it go in reverse. We thought that if we did the excact same thing but in reverse it would work, though when we tested it, it was going in the wrong direction. We tried many other things but nothing was working. Then I realised that the first turn going in reverse was turning the wrong way so when we fixed it all up it worked but it needed to be improved as it was going to much to the side. We kept fidely around with it and we were afraid that we were going to make it worse so the teacher marked us on it. We scored a 4 out of 5, but we know how to fix it so were going to fix it so hopefully we will be able to score our full marks. WISH US LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rhiannon

WK 1 SNAKE
It is week one of term two and Group five are still doing our snake. It is now term 2 and geting the snake right is still very hard and it drove me crazy and the team. we haven't finshed the snake but the shimmy is going to the hardest of them all. WISH US LUCK WERE GOING TO NEED IT!!!!!! our snake looks like it is going crazy. it now the end of our libaray time and we think we have the right idea to make our snake just right. Rhiannon
WK 2 SNAKE it is week two and we are geting the snake maked and looking at the snake and geting it just right. This week we got the snake just right and it is over and done with. thank god is over. the snake was easy. next week we will be working on our simmy. the snake looks awesome now that it is finshed. our idea last week was right and it worked. WE FINSHED OUR SNAKE!!!!!!!

WK 3 SIMMY It is now week three and we are doing our simmy and i am going to go mad. the simmy is so hard. why are we doing robotics. i was right the simmy is the hardest of them all. the building wasn't that hard but it was droving me mad and the team. iam on writing, amelia is on robot and rosalie is on computer. WE NEED LUCK ON OUR SIMMY OR IAM GOING TO GO MAD!!!!!

WK 4 SIMMY We are still doing our simmy and we are geting no were with it. we need help, can you help us. we need to move on to our dance. so our treacher has said to move on to our dance and do our simmy after our dance. i am writing and computer and rosalie was on robot. WE ARE MOVING ON TO OUR DANCE!!!!!!!!!!

WK 5 DANCE It is now week five and we have moved on to out dance. we have completed three dance moves and we are very happy with our dance so far. it is now just Rosalie and me. Amelia is now in jades and moniques group. our three moves are backwards then forwards then snake and then 360 turn. The dance is simple. We now known what song the robot is dancing to. the song is called don't stop believe it by "glee". The song is a great song for our dance and it an awesome song from glee but most of you would no that. today i was writing and computer and rosalie was on robot. OUT DANCE IS LOOKING AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!

WK 6 DANCE It is now week six and we are doing our dance. Our dance is looking great. we have now completed six moves in the 6th week. the six moves are forwards then backwards then snake then 360 turn then snake again and then the 360 turn. at the end of the day rosalie and I snowed the class our unfinshed dance. We presented our dance to the class and it went really well I hope we can present agein, our teachers gave us some tips on our dance. that day i was on writing and robot and rosalie was on comperter. A BIG THANK YOU TO THE TEACHERS AND THE CLASS FOR THE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!! looking forward to the nexts week.

WK 7 DANCE Our cance now gose for around 50 seconds and is looking great. I think that me and rhi are a really good team. We have added some 360 turns to make it wounderful and we are discusing our cosume and rhi being a really good artest I think we can come up with somethink amazing. we have made up a new move that is really good and Miss Burns really likes because no one else has done. We have just realized that our song gose for arounf 4 minutes so we will have to cut it short. I am looking foeward to show the class all of our idears and costume. Today our jobs where rhi on robot and computer and me on wiki and robot. We shared the job of robot so we could do the wiki.

It is now week eight, we are still working on our dance. it is coming along very well. Rosalie and i are doing our wiki page together now. we are looking forward to when we are going to show the teachers and our class mates. we have been thinking of our costurme. we love our song !!!!!!!!!. we have disered on our costurme, we are going with bright colours. our snake is to long and we are going to change it. we added a shimmy and it looks great. we now thinking about our costurme. our dance is almost done. we have been testing our dance all the time and our dance is looking great. we so what to finsh our dance but we what to get it just right. we have now show the class and we hope to show year 6M. when we do we hope you like it. today we both did the wiki page but rosalie was on computer. the team is going good and we woring well. OUR DANCE IS LOOK AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. THANK YOU TO THE TEACHERS FOR ALL THERE HELP AND TIME.

wk 9 DANCE today we are both on the computer and wiki and our dance is looking great and we are looking forward to when we show the teachers. at the end of the day we going to show the teachers, year 6 and year 5, ya ya ya ya. well we went vary good and we both loved looking at the other dances and they were great. our dance was awesome. we think that the year 5 liked our dance the other dances. we used rosalies costume that she made because the costume that rhiannon made would not fit. our costume turned out great and when our robot danced the costume did not get in the way. HOPE THE YEAR 5 ENJOY BUILDING THEE ROBOTS AND PROGRAMING THEM TO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
